Our Privacy Promise

We don't collect your data. Period.

Clean My Prompt is built on a simple principle: your sensitive data should never leave your device. We achieve this through 100% client-side processing. Everything happens in your browser's memory. Nothing is uploaded, stored, or transmitted.

What Data We DON'T Collect

• ❌ Your prompts or sanitized text
• ❌ Personally identifiable information (PII)
• ❌ IP addresses (even anonymized)
• ❌ Browser fingerprints
• ❌ User accounts or emails
• ❌ Behavioral data or click tracking
• ❌ Cookies for tracking purposes
• ❌ Analytics beyond country-level aggregates

What Data We DO Collect

We collect minimal, anonymous analytics to understand usage patterns:

• Page views: Which pages are visited (not who visits them)
• Country-level location: Aggregated by country (e.g., "United States: 1,234 visits")
• Referral source: How users find us (Google, direct, social media)

This data is collected anonymously and aggregated. We cannot identify individual users.

How Your Data is Processed

Client-Side Only

When you paste text:

1. Text is stored in browser RAM (JavaScript heap memory)
2. Regex patterns and NLP algorithms process it locally
3. Sanitized output is generated in your browser
4. When you close the tab, all data is garbage collected

Zero network requests are made during sanitization. You can verify this in browser DevTools.

Cookies & Local Storage

We use minimal browser storage:

• localStorage.theme: Remembers your theme preference (dark/warm)
• localStorage.cookieConsent: Records your cookie consent choice
• sessionStorage.customPatterns: Your custom regex patterns (session only)

No tracking cookies. No third-party cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.

Third-Party Services

We load the following external libraries from public CDNs:

• Tailwind CSS: Styling framework (no tracking)
• Google Fonts: Inter font (no cookies, minimal analytics by Google)
• Compromise.js: NLP library from unpkg.com (no tracking)

These services may collect minimal usage data (e.g., font downloads), but they cannot access your sensitive text.

GDPR, CCPA & Data Rights

Since we don't collect personal data, most data rights are not applicable. However:

• Right to Access: All data is local. Check browser DevTools → Storage
• Right to Deletion: Clear browser cookies/storage
• Right to Portability: Export from browser storage (standard JSON format)
• Right to Object: Disable cookies in browser settings

Children's Privacy

Our service does not target children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. Since we don't collect personal data at all, there's no risk of collecting children's data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Material changes will be announced on our GitHub repository.
